"He believed in uplifting society through education, discipline, and moral values, shaping our
college’s mission."
Uthamar O. P. Ramaswamy Reddiyar was a towering statesman and educationist whose legacy
continues to inspire generations. As a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, he firmly believed
in the power of education to uplift society. He laid the foundation for Vallalar College of
Physical Education with a mission to blend learning with discipline. His vision was to empower
rural youth through quality physical education and character development. He emphasized moral
values, social equity, and nation-building through education. Under his leadership, institutions
became tools of transformation for underprivileged communities. He was a true Gandhian and an
advocate for self-reliance and service. His legacy remains the soul of Vallalar College and
drives our commitment to excellence. Every brick in our campus reflects his ideals of integrity
and determination. Students continue to walk the path he paved—of knowledge, discipline, and
responsibility. We honor his contributions in every field event, classroom session, and value
education lesson. Reddiyar believed that education without values is incomplete.
His life’s work shaped our mission to serve the community through physical and spiritual
fitness. He remains an eternal source of inspiration to all educators and learners. We are proud
torchbearers of his timeless vision and selfless service.
